Civil Construction Engineering (B.Sc., Non-continuous)

Civil engineering refers to the design of structures (buildings, bridges, towers, dams, roads, highways), calculation, supervision, and their implementation. Civil engineering is among the fields that demonstrate the application of science in creating construction and development of a country. It means anything that contributes to a country’s prosperity falls within the scope of civil engineering work such as: dams, airports, roads, towers, tunnels, telecommunications masts, earthquake-resistant buildings against earthquakes, floods and fire and power plants. A civil engineer must be very sociable and capable of establishing communication with others because civil engineering is a group field. This means that a civil engineer in their work environment deals with different strata of society from workers’ communities to technicians and engineers from other fields and must establish good communication with all these people to witness progress and success in their work. The field of civil engineering has two dimensions: practical and theoretical/laboratory. Among them are engineers who are attracted to practical work; they must be prepared to work on sites both inside and outside cities meaning they should be ready for planning and dealing with different layers of people. Some are also attracted to the theoretical/laboratory aspect of engineering which requires readiness for computational tasks office-based tasks as well as laboratory tasks which require strong mathematics skills along with great patience.

About

There is hardly any place in a society or region where civil engineering activities are not considered the first and most fundamental needs. Even all industrial, agricultural, and other activities are directly or indirectly dependent on this field and benefit from it. In addition to the growth and development of societies, the advancement of science and technology also reveals the necessity of paying precise and scientific attention to civil works and changing past methods. Today, one of the reasons a region, city, or country is considered modern, besides having advanced technologies, is the presence of structures and buildings with unique designs and architecture that give a special appearance to the social space. The more modern a society is, the more it showcases structures that represent the pinnacle of technology and advanced design. Civil engineering is one of the important and attractive fields in the engineering disciplines that has attracted many enthusiasts from the past to the present. Civil engineering (Civil Engineering) is derived from the word Civilization, meaning civilization, so it can be concluded that civil engineering means civilization and is closer to society than other engineering fields. Given the quantity and quality of the courses offered in this field, the candidate must have superior abilities and knowledge in mathematics and physics. They must also have physical strength, analytical skills, visualization ability, and sufficient accuracy in many issues.
