Fabric is one of the most commonly used items in daily life, with great diversity in both design and material. Important features of a fabric include softness, flexibility, durability, and moisture absorption—each of which plays a role in determining its application.
The Fabric Design program has been introduced with the aim of meeting the current needs of both manufacturers and consumers.
A fabric designer must be familiar with all key factors involved in fabric selection and be able to produce practical textiles according to the required properties.
These designers should not only be acquainted with the tools and industrial machinery of this field, but also be able to create beautiful, functional, and eco-friendly products by presenting innovative ideas and creative designs.
Graduates of this field can, by applying elements of Iranian culture and art and making use of modern knowledge, contribute to the localization of this technology and help expand it on an international level.

Skills
During this program, students acquire various skills, including:
• Quick sketching of the human figure, fabric, and garments
• Practical drawing of geometric motifs in fabric design
• Dyeing fabrics with natural fibers and synthetic dyes
• Industrial fabric weaving
• Manual printing on fabric
• Use of graphic software in fabric design
In addition to learning basic concepts of marketing and understanding consumer behavior, students also become familiar with the fashion industry and garment production management.
Furthermore, in order to apply their theoretical knowledge and gain insight into how production units in fabric design work, students complete an internship.
