Puppet Show (B.A.)
Puppetry is one of the oldest performing arts in the world. The artist in the field of puppetry establishes a very close connection with the audience and conveys their message to them. Puppetry is an artistic expression that communicates with audiences through different puppets. The techniques of puppetry have advanced to such an extent that it has become an academic discipline.
Puppetry is a type of theater or performance that uses puppets or movable objects often resembling humans or animals, controlled by someone known as a “puppeteer.” In these performances, puppeteers use hand or arm movements or strings attached to puppets to control their heads, bodies, and sometimes mouths and eyes. Additionally, sometimes the puppeteer speaks for the puppet while synchronizing its mouth movements with their voice. Often, movements and speaking parts of puppets are used for storytelling. In this academic field, students become familiar with various techniques including puppeteering, directing, stage design, and playwriting.
About
About the Major
Puppetry is the art of imagination, an imagination that soars to the infinite realms of human existence! Traditional and old perceptions sometimes limit puppetry to children and adolescents, but in contemporary world theater, puppetry is one of the most powerful and main branches of theater. Modern theorists see no significant difference between stage theater and puppetry. Puppetry brings inanimate objects to life, transforming the lifeless world around us into a living world on stage or in the frame of cinema and media, depicting human interaction with this world.
