Today, industrial design, as a modern field in Iran and the world, has become one of the most attractive academic disciplines (both technically-engineering and artistically) due to addressing one of the most essential needs of societies. Design (or Design) as a culture of dealing with technology alongside the culture of architecture and engineering is independently forming and evolving globally. Industrial design students simultaneously acquire artistic creativity and technical-engineering topics, designing and modeling products, services, and systems needed by society, and enhancing their surroundings from the perspectives of human factors, usability, and aesthetics.
This field engages in a three-way interaction between culture, technology, and humans, and through this interaction, it has the potential to impact various areas (from product design to furniture and equipment). This field in Iran has multiple orientations, from product design and communication design to interior design, furniture design, and culture-based design.
About the Field
Industrial design is a combination of design art and industry knowledge; innovation in the industry is a factor that, due to the emergence of new needs and the human need for variety, is always of interest. In this context, it is necessary to have individuals proficient in design with regard to its artistic aspects and sufficiently aware of other sciences, who can turn these needs from imagination into reality in the best possible way with the new designs and ideas they present.
In the master’s degree in industrial design, more specialized theoretical topics in industrial design are emphasized, including economic and social issues, industrial sociology, new sciences and technologies, and industrial design methods in today’s world.
