 The role of media and its importance in today’s societies is no longer hidden from anyone. Given the power of media, there is a need to learn related sciences in order to use this tool correctly and effectively. The bachelor’s degree program in Television and Digital Arts is one of the higher education courses planned for training human resources needed in producing television programs for the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting organization. The planning goal for this bachelor’s program is to nurture students’ creative thinking based on Islamic insight, specialized knowledge, and their skills in TV graphics as well as computer graphics including computer animation so they can participate in various television programs such as news broadcasts and shows. Graduates from this bachelor’s program will be able after completing their studies to work at production centers within the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting organization focusing on specialty areas such as animation and graphics; they will produce computer animations as well as provide necessary services required by this organization.”

About the Field

The rapid technological advancements in the field of art have had widespread impacts. The field of Digital Arts is the digital version of the fields of Graphic Design and Animation. The presence of computers and digital technology in the production of animation and graphic works has brought about significant transformations in these fields through the use of specialized software. The production and direction of films and cinematic animations in 2D and 3D, and the use of digital knowledge in the image industry, including graphic productions, special effects, and animation in cinematic, television, and advertising works, are considered the achievements of this field. After four general semesters, students in this field will choose a specialization in either Graphic Design or Animation.

Skill Areas

Graduates of this field will master various tools and specialized software for directing and designing that are effective in the process of creating digital works for cinema and television. Using specialized 2D and 3D software to design the elements that make up a film will be part of their technical skills. Creating, processing, and animating images digitally are among the skills of graduates in this field.

Job Opportunities

Working in animation film production teams in various roles such as director, character designer, working in graphic jobs such as graphic designer, illustrating newspapers and magazines, and various websites, working in graphic and animation studios, digital printing and laboratories, and advertising companies are the job opportunities in this field.

Professional Desirability

For those who acquire the necessary skills in various parts of this field, there is a good job market in the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). Additionally, with the expansion of digital media and social networks, the possibility of working in the private sector has also been provided in recent years.
