Pars University of Architecture and Arts and Sapienza University of Rome signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of cultural and practical cooperation, coordinated and facilitated by the Cultural Attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Italy.

According to IRNA (Islamic Republic News Agency), this memorandum was signed on July 15, 2022 (24 Tir 1401 in the Iranian calendar) by Professor Giorgio Piras, Head of the Department of Ancient World Studies at Sapienza University of Rome, and Professor Mahmoud Golabchi, founder of Pars Higher Education Institute of Architecture and Arts.

One of the key provisions of this agreement is Pars Institute’s support for holding a Persian language training course within the curriculum of the specialized program on Near and Middle Eastern and African Cultural Heritage at the Department of Ancient World Studies at Sapienza University.

Other aspects of the memorandum include faculty and student exchange, expansion of joint research projects in Iranian cultural heritage, organization of conferences and workshops introducing Persian language and culture under the specialized cultural heritage program at Sapienza, mutual research opportunities, and more.

Following the agreement between the Iranian Cultural Attaché in Italy and the Department of Ancient World Studies at Sapienza University to support the Persian language course within the specialized cultural heritage program, the opportunity to hold the fifth Iran-Italy Intercultural Dialogue held last March was used to identify an Iranian partner to support the course.

After selecting Pars University of Architecture and Arts for this purpose, the Cultural Attaché designed the framework for synergy and cooperation, and finally, with coordination and follow-up by the Cultural Attaché, the memorandum was signed to implement the agreement.
