According to the Public Relations Department of Pars University of Architecture and Art, the second phase of the first inter-university event of Iranian Plays (Superstructure) was held in order to familiarize students with the capacities of various types of Iranian drama and also to strengthen scientific and artistic interactions between universities.

The jury of this event consists of Dr. Farhad Amini (representative of Pars University), Dr. Rahmat Amini (representative of the University of Tehran), Dr. Niloufar Zare (representative of the University of Art) and Professor Farzad Moafi (representative of Sooreh University).

The second stage of “Superstructure” performances was held by the Center for Theater and Performing Arts of Pars University on January 19 and January 21 with the presence of judges, professors, and students in the plateau of this university.

During this event, 10 works of Pars students were performed on the stage, which included the following plays:

“Ekvan Dio: The Last Battle” directed by Parsa Mohammadi

“A Thousand Brains and a Thousand Screams” directed by Setayesh Rostami

“Black Mockery” directed by Alireza Ghorbanzadeh

“Vakhsh” directed by Saba Davari

“Naqali: The Battle of Sohrab and Dust Created” directed by Nazanin Mali

“Ghamaz” directed by Amirreza Dashti

“The Legend of Iraj” directed by Ashkan Teimouri

“Shammar’s Armor” directed by Sina Ramezani

“Four Boxes” directed by Anousha Moghaddampour

“Revenge” directed by Nima Ghasemi

Prof. Mahmoud Golabchi (founder of Pars University) visited the process of holding the event and watched the performances of the students and at the end of the event, he stated: “Iranian plays are a unique treasure of Iranian identity, culture and civilization. In a world that is moving towards globalization, the role of civilizations and nations is defined based on the contribution of each of them in the construction of human civilization.

He added: “The land of Iran, with its history and culture of several thousand years, has been one of the five influential countries in human civilization, and part of this influence is due to our art, including Iranian plays.” The preservation and revival of this art is a vital task to protect Iran’s identity and place in the future of the world.

Emphasizing the need for synergy between universities for the continuation and expansion of this event, Prof. Golabchi noted: “The Superstructure event has provided a valuable opportunity for students to present magnificent and creative works during their studies and prepare to enter the professional field.”

Pointing out that the “Superstructure” event not only helps to develop the creativity and skills of performing arts students, but also leads to the promotion of the status of this art in society, he said: “The art of theater and drama in our country has not yet reached its rightful place. The ideas and messages that are conveyed to society through this art can be more influential than hundreds of books and lectures. In fact, this art has the power to instill the deepest concepts to the audience in the shortest time.

Stating that art transforms the thinking and thought of human beings and is preferable to other fields, Prof. Golabchi stated: “Artworks are seen many times and have a profound impact on the mind and soul of society.” For this reason, art plays an unparalleled role in building the future of our culture and civilization.

In the end, the founder of Pars University of Architecture and Art emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting students of various fields of art and added: Pars University is always trying to provide the ground for the growth and brilliance of all students, especially students of performing arts, by providing facilities and creating appropriate opportunities, because these students are the hopes and stars of the future of the country’s art, and Pars University plays its role in education. The next generation of Iranian artists is proud.

A number of prominent professors of Pars University, including Professor Vida Daneshmand, Professor Fereshteh Razeghi, Professor Aida Basiri, Professor Fahimeh Baroutchi, Professor Mehdi Saffari-Nejad, Professor Hooman Zandizadeh, and Dr. Hamed Shafikhah were also present in this event.

It should be noted that the next stage of the “Superstructure” event, which is dedicated to the performance of selected works, will be held publicly in one of the halls of the city in the last week of February.
